this idiotic sub already shows up for me

There's a "mute sub" button below every post on s/all for a reason. If you press it on any post from s/DebateAltRight, you'll never have to see another post post from our "idiotic" sub ever again.

Lol, sure.

Its clear from your obsession and hyperbole that the sub frustrates you, and you don't actually find it "funny." You don't have to like us (we're used to it / don't care) and not every post is a gem - but the sub is obviously not "funnier than the onion." The top post right now is about native Africans never being assigned any culpability for the slave trade. It's a fair point/question, so why is it "funny?" Clearly it isnt, and you just want to pretend it is - because low-effort slander/well-poisoning is an outlet for your frustration and is easier than actually debating or making a point. And that kind of behavior is why you got banned, IIRC. Then, instead of just muting the sub (as easy as clicking a button), you willingly subject yourself to trauma without even being able to engage with posts

TL;DR: DAR lives in your head "rent-free"

first sentence and youre already failing just as hard as the other tard from that sub. i 'clearly' said,'fuck that, i actually like seeing it. more funny than the onion.' why would i lie about that, if it frustrated me id remove it. again, are the morons trolling me and im just not able to tell? didnt read after the first idiotic sentence, but keep proving me right!

In that case you're not really in the position to complain about our sub being added to default subs, let alone complain about it being on s/all.

[–]mahavishnunj 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

i wasnt complaining at all. in fact the exact OPPOSITE. this is typical of the morons who frequent that sub not being able to grasp basic reading comprehension. reread what i said, then what you said.

[–]YORAMRW 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

You clearly take issue with the idea of our sub being added to default subs, or else you wouldn't have felt the need to write your initial reply to me, but nice backpedaling. Either that, or you're just poor at communicating, and shifting the blame on me for misintepreting you in order to avoid having to admit fault.

can you seriously just not read or am i being trolled? if this isnt a troll, my god you guys fail bigger outside of your own sub than you do in there.

i think it's the only really active sub on saidit these days

[–]zyxzevn 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

Maybe have some categories?
Fun
Tech / Science
Political
Science
Corruption / Conspiracies
Rabbit hole
ALT

/s/WikiLeaks
/s/Physics
/s/paranormal
/s/PoliticalAnalysis
/s/AskScience
/s/Biology
/s/CorruptScience
/s/Solutions
/s/PoliticalHumor
/s/LifeIsBeautiful
/s/WritingPrompts
/s/AMA

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I think this is a good idea

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Categories are a great idea. We've discussed it for years. I'm not sure if /u/d3rr can encode default categories into preferences, or even wants to.

We could make recommended lists of subs in the /s/SaidIt/wiki, but today I learned I can't edit it as I did 4 days ago. Whether under the /s/SaidIt/wiki or under a new /s/SaidItCommunity/wiki, combined with my short example list above we could curate some top recommended subs (obviously many subs overlap into multiple categories).

  • Fun - seems too vague, though I suppose it could be a general list, or have sub-sub categories. I listed "Entertainment" thinking that "Gaming", "Screen", "Sound", "Sports", and "Other" might be included.
  • Corruption - is good, keeping political "conspiracies" grounded in reality, not to be confused with woo.
  • Gender - countless subs here on this.
  • Political - with obvious overlaps with "Corruption".
  • Regions - names all the countries, places, etc.
  • SaidIt - practical.
  • Science - fundamental.
  • Social Media - practical.
  • Solutions - necessary.
  • Technology - fundamental.

Not sure what "Rabbit Hole" entails and maybe "Deep Research" might be less ambiguous and confusing. /u/LarrySwinger2 recently renamed his forum to https://RabbitHole.wf. Also, I'm not sure what "ALT" is about.

Others to consider (among my multisubs, some better than others): Amusements, Art, Celebs, Comedy, Computers, Control, Crime, DIY, Drugs, Economics, Energy, Games, Grim, Hacking, History, Hobbies, Ideologies, Images, Informative, Internet, Media, Minds, Music, News, NSFW, Podcasts, Politics, Reddit-Banned, Regions, Sports, Unclassified, Users, Vehicles, Video, WellBeing. Obviously not all of these potential categories need to be made, much less made soon.

A couple years ago I had started categorizing all SaidIt's subs into 2 kinds of multisubs, one here: /s/SaidIt/wiki/multisubs. I abandoned that page during my first spat with M7. Aside from gaps in time and occasional lack of interest and the obvious stupid subs, I generally kept up categorizing most of SaidIt's subs in my PUBLIC MULTISUBS: on my user page below my MODERATOR OF:. The problem with all of these is that it includes a lot of subs that are redundant or never amounted to anything for whatever reason.

Your great list (alphabetized below, now added above) has some that are already on the default list or my list:

/s/AMA
/s/AskScience
/s/Biology
/s/CorruptScience - recommended
/s/LifeIsBeautiful - I almost recommended this
/s/paranormal
/s/Physics - default
/s/PoliticalAnalysis - recommended
/s/PoliticalHumor - recommended
/s/Solutions - recommended
/s/WikiLeaks - default
/s/WritingPrompts

[–]raven9 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I think there is already way too many subs in the default list. It makes the platform appear dead when you click on so many subs only to find no one is posting on them. Default should have only had about 20 or 30 subs to begin with and that number would have increased organically as users created niche interest subs.

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Good points.

The default sub list has a very well-rounded selection for any "normal" forum with average interests across the board.

The problems that you address can be fixed by adding the subs that are actually busy on SaidIt, and perhaps dropping some that are not as busy, though IMO they could stay, such as: /s/Comics, /s/Dogecoin, /s/DownTheMemoryHole, /s/Dreams, /s/Earth, /s/GIFs, /s/Help, /s/Introductions, /s/maps, /s/MeanwhileOnVoat, /s/Offbeat, /s/Pics, /s/Piracy, /s/Rothschilds, /s/SaidItCanary, /s/TIL, /s/Videos. Those are good subs but they're not used too regularly.

My long list in the OP (just as many as exist in the default plus a dozen, give or take) also includes some SaidIt subs that are good but not used too regularly. IMO quality is often more important than quantity. And of course there are some very busy subs that really ought to be included. Perhaps these should factor in somehow.

Yes I agree. Perhaps only drop the ones that have not been posted on at all or for over year especially if their topic already overlaps with other subs. I also think you should add regional subs. One thing about reddit that irks me is the tyrannical censorship on some of the regional subs. For example when Tiffany Dover died they shadowbanned posts about it on the Alabama and Tennessee subs where she is from.

So how about a Florida sub. I would like to post things related to Florida.

[–]HibikiBlack 5 insightful - 4 fun5 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

People should join s/Jesuits and s/NationalistRevolution. They are the main anti-Jesuit subs and s/NationalistRevolution is in essence my battle strategy sub to fight back in the information warfare. I don't mind the idea that they don't show up in s/all I removed that function myself because they are both rather tribalistic subs, but I don't see that as all bad at all since considering that we are dealing with the most powerful people out there and the best Intelligence groups, It's inevitable that someone gets banned when it comes to defending a Counter-Intelligence site against them. (Or at least they have to know that you are willing to use such force against them)

They are also overall a good example of how my ideology differs from Magnora himself. I think Magnora made Saidit way too liberal, while I'm sure he did it with good intentions too much liberalism can be just as toxic for the site as too much authoritarianism. While some people may not like the idea of a certain sub going "tribalistic" I actually embrace it proudly.

I think it's a good idea, and they are active enough. I'd considered it but I omitted /s/Jews, /s/Religion, and some other subs like that on purpose because I don't know how much controversy we want to have in our default subs. Plus I don't know which are active subs or not. IMO, we should also have a /s/Zionism sub, but I don't feel confident enough about my knowledge on it to tackle such a formidable topic (maybe /u/Jesus would create it), and /s/USIsrael or /s/IsraelExposed, and of course, /s/JesuitsAndZionists seem to work for that.

[–]Jesus 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Zionism sub would be good. I have some great books on Zionism and how it was utilized by various countries and peoples.

By the way, I feel like cc is a misapplied term here. It stands for carbon copy, which is correct in email, because you're actually sending a copy of the bytes to another server. But on a website, the bytes are hosted on a single server, nothing is copied. (Or rather it's copied each time someone requests the page.)

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Correct. I should have "ping"ed. Those extra two characters are brutal to type. Perhaps I could try "sm" for silicon mirror.

s/clownworld? A lot of what's going on right now would fit perfectly in that oft overlooked sub.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

I think all subs should be shown. We work like Reddit but on a design when reddit already had millions of users, at first there was just one feed, one sub. We don't have that so obviously it makes sense to browse s/all exclusively. That means any sub hidden from that gets ignored. We already have the capability (thanks D3) to ignore any subs we want to. So, I think it's logical all subs should be, by default, shown by all and that's what all users should see by default. They can opt out of the ones they want.

[–]JasonCarswell[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I agree. It's how it started. But they changed it. Also, just because new users' auto-default used to include all subs, the older users weren't being auto-added, so it was a manual chore to keep adding the dozen or more new subs every week. Now it's much less, but they still need to be added manually.

    s/AnarchoCapitalism and s/Anarcho_Capitalism

Yes. I had generally avoided the political ones. There are several others with similar names too. I take it those two you picked are the best?

Within the last month or two I posted a Keith Knight video and it explained how Anarcho-Marxism or Anarcho-Communism is a self-contradictory concept and that ultimately logically it would cancel itself out and just be Anarchism, and therefore so would the contrary to that, Anarcho-Capitalism. And of course for many, the preferred term over "Anarchism" is "Voluntaryism", about voluntary interactions without rulers, which is slightly different than "Voluntarism" which is about organizing volunteers. Ironically, in part because I didn't know the distinction a couple years ago, as I suspect many don't, /s/Voluntarism is a more active sub on SaidIt than the more correct term /s/Voluntaryism. It was also because of the limitations of creating new subs that I simply didn't bother to make a correct one, but someone finally did, though I haven't embraced it as the damage was done.
