I've been thinking about it for years, honestly. People could tip each other with the saiditcoins and then if you had enough you could get a t-shirt from the saiditcoin store or something. And then maybe someday the saiditcoins get on some exchange and take on a real-world value... then all the OG users of saidit would make money, and it would also provide a way to fund all of saidit's existence forever, so donations would no longer be necessary.

That'd be cool. But I'd need help getting it going, because it's a lot of work to build a new coin (probably just copy dogecoin's design and tweak it a bit) and then integrate it in to the saidit UI so people can tip each other and access their wallet that would be automatically tied to their username.

And then we could give out coins to active user accounts, especially ones that post good-quality comments and posts.

It would be fun, if someone out there would help me get it going, we could do it. I want to do it myself but I only have so many hours in the day.
