Better campaign finance laws might go a long way toward achieving this, and, you know, without all the hangings.

Laws are made by legislative representatives, treason already exists in the law books.

That law's a joke though.

There almost can be no clearer case of treason than getting the country into a war under false-pretences.

And that's almost every US war/attack for the last seventy years.

How many of those responsible have been hanged?

I do not know the legal details of it. It may be useless, but I do not recall hearing it ever truly being charged against someone either.

I understand what you are getting at but the actions of some of the "representatives" are so openly and obviously not representative of and actually detrimentally against the people supposed to be represented, that proving so beyond a shadow of a doubt, in a court of law, without political bias, would be easy.
