If one thing should be obvious by now, it's that politicians don't give fuck about a majority of Americans.

I'm reminded of the massive protests worldwide, tens of millions of people taking to the streets, to stop Iraq War 2.0. And it turns out the people running the country don't give a crap what people think of them and what they're doing.

Remember the protests in France that were being described as "the start of a civil war", "the end of Macron's presidency" and all that, that happened all the back to... earlier this summer? And the protests against the pension reform a bit earlier that were described basically the same way?

Same thing. The government just waits it out, people end up getting bored and dropping out, then it all goes back to the regularly scheduled program and nothing is changed as to what the government is doing.

It was already hard enough to even try to scare those fuckers into doing something non-shitty before (e.g. iraq war 2), but since the C19 global(ist) sheep parade that obediently switched to defending ukrainazis when told to... Why would those governments ever bother again with paying attention even to "massive" protests in case it could end up threatening them?

The majority of the population already told them that they're willing to accept and do anything, including turning over those who don't comply.

There's no threat anymore from the peasantry, so the assholes in power don't even have to pretend.

They'll just pull out a new "emergency" whenever they want to lower the noise, again, and the sheep will go "baaaaaaaa", again.

Billions for Kiev, not a red cent for Lahaina. US priorities are totally asswedged.

Too bad that the US government doesn't give a flying fuck about what US citizens want.

And that it will remain the case as long as they keep believing that their elections serve a purpose, especially when they still insist on voting for either of the red/blue teams that ensure that this remains the case.

A majority of Americans are now opposed to the war. This is probably a combination of Americans morally against regime change wars and Americans who feel our money is better spent at home.

I don't think the initial batch of the ukraine supporters had exactly a "supporting war" mentality, if that's what you're saying.

Your comment does make sense if a lot of americans that voted for Biden would now vote for Trump solely because of his mentality towards the Ukraine war.

It's not just President Trump who is opposed to the war.

RFK Jr. is opposed to the war too.

So is Tulsi Gabbard.

Like, no one wants the war (or at least would admit to wanting a war)

Trump (and those other 2 you mentioned) are seeking peace while the current administration seems to want to keep sending money to Ukraine for Ukraine to keep fighting. But that is easily justifiable as in "helping Ukraine", is what I meant.
