I went to India last month. I was told I was in the tech sector for a few by my coworker there. I told him I was on a mission for saidit to find the streetshitters that were spamming about Darshan Handiballs, he proceeded to tell me he can't do business with me anymore if I don't shut the fuck up. I told him his handle was probably socks and for him to shut the fuck up.

He said, "Who the fuck is socks and what is saidit you fucking assclown." SO.....I lost my supplier for a very large portion of my company because I was trying to help saidit. I'm gonna have to sell my house.

Does his target market even have money to spend?

The issue may go well beyond money though... potential customers may not have access to wifi or have own devices for viewing websites. There are even questions over the presence of opposable thumbs.

You'd think that one of the benefits of saidit having relatively few visitors
would be that it would make it not worth the money spamming it.

This assumes that the only objective to cluttering a forum with useless garbage is to make money.

Posting here is useful for SEO ranking though (the links are not marked as "no-follow"). That would be actually an easy fix which would disadvantage at lease some spammers. But m7 is more of a sysadmin than web dev, so ...

Or require 100 Karma before an account can post more than 3 posts a day.

Same with replies.
And it can only grow when it is actually used.
Maybe with "leveling"? Like after 1 month AND 20 posts/replies -> 2 more replies&posts available. More after 2 months and 40 posts/replies.
Admins should be able to unlock this restriction for people that modded a sub on reddit and that was banned recently, for their own sub(s).

Would also be good to disallow any url shortener links as those are always spam. And only allow one or two links to the same site per day would be good too. A lot of spam bots link to the same site over and over.

    Or we could just ban those two assholes who spam the forum. We all know who they are I shouldn't have to say.

    But the problem is, those two people will keep on making new accounts. It's like this on a lot of websites. Plenty of people will just use a VPN or tor to create new accounts.

    It's incredibly easy to tell who is who, they don't even try to hide their MO
