3000 joined users over about 15 months = 200 new users a month on average. Pretty good!

You can see the sub with the most subscriptions yourself at www.saidit.net/s/

How many illegals?!

Would it be possible to add number of posts (and maybe comments) within each sub?

Also I'd love to see the month by month numbers. I'm guessing the first months were not 200 new users and I'm guessing now you're getting way more than 200 a month. Also, I'd be curious to see if there were any bumps - ie after a TFH podcast.

I can make pretty graphs for you if you want.

It's fine, don't worry about it.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Not worried, just curious.

Share any stories from here on other platforms of social media too. If we can trust this place it might be cool in the future. Facebook and Twitter are censoring. Reddit is banning communities who get too popular. If this place gets some of that crowd it could be good going forward.

Also, moderators on Reddit are banning more and more people for more and more arbitrary reasons. Just look at some of the subreddits for people who were banned; it is horrible.

What does this mean or refer to? I've never seen one or know where to even look. Thanks though.

This may be the last bastion. From Reddit -> Voat -> Saidit. I appreciate the free speech on Voat, but between the Militant Racists and the Jesus Qtards I can't stand that place anymore.

I propose a motto upgrade for SaidIt.

Old: "SaidIt - Speak Your Truth"

New: "SaidIt - Speak Your Truth And Be Classy"

Okay, maybe that's not the best phrase or choice of words - but maybe there's a way to exude the civility we generally try to encourage around here. Maybe...

"SaidIt - Speak Your Truth With Civility"

No doubt thanks to your efforts to improve the site and facilitate growth!

Remember those that advertise it on Reddit and everywhere else! I certainly do.

Who else likes promoting SaidIt, and what are your methods?

[–]magnora7[S] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I promote saidit on reddit, in threads where people are complaining about reddit deleting something or locking something, I simply comment "try out saidit.net" with a working link they can click

That usually gets +5 upvotes, which means about 50 views or so. But it all depends on context, it's important to find places where people are really pissed at reddit, and then offer them an alternative

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I just drop it in passing everywhere, even when it's tangential.

I've also pleaded with YouTubers to do interviews with m7.

How are you going to keep white supremacists from taking over this site, like on Voat?

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

The pyramid of debate... repeated ad hominem attacks or name calling/trolling is prohibited.

[–]Dr_Funkenstein 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

That's if they're insulting you. What if they are insulting others, using the site to recruit for white supremacy? Doesn't sound like a pyramid would be very effective in that situation.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Imo it's for low brow insulting me or users or public figures or races and ethnic groups. If a well reasoned and not ad hominem or name calling argument is presented, it will be allowed.

[–]JasonCarswell 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

It's actually very interesting. Supremacists are very different than folks protecting their heritage and "colour", as well as their cultures, communities, etc. Many have perfectly good reasons and logic behind them and very valid perspectives worth learning from. I most definitely do not agree with them, but I appreciate and respect their views and rights to them.

This does not simply apply to the vanilla branded "whites". Not only does this apply to all colours and "races" but also to cultures (ie. Hindus who only marry Hindus or Chinese only marrying Chinese) and through cultural engineering the "whites" were forced from their ethnic city conclaves (ie. Polish Catholic neighbourhoods) into the generic disempowered mixed "white" suburbs of banality.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I feel similarly. Supremacy and wanting to preserve your heritage or cultural group are miles apart. This polish thing is interesting, I'll have to check it out.

[–]JasonCarswell 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Not just Polish. Every ethnicity had it's neighbourhoods with pros and cons, but as a people they were far stronger. By moving in other groups they forced them out, banksters helped by offering loans in the suburbs you couldn't refuse. There were no ethic communities out there - just "whites". It wasn't just Catholics or Baptists or - just "whites" with nothing but a consumerist culture.

https://infogalactic.com/info/Powers_&_Pricipalities is a podcast on YouTube, etc that often brings this up. It's a weekly conversation between Joseph Atwill https://infogalactic.com/info/Joseph_Atwill and Tim Kelly. TK does other interviews. I never miss one. A to A+++ every time.

[–]magnora7[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

The community will reject them, they'll be redirected to voat where they'll be more comfortable, and if necessary more drastic measures can be taken to protect the site.

[–]Dr_Funkenstein 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I hope so. I'm sure the creator of voat never imagined how bad it would get; the white supremacists groups came in all at once after stormfront got shut down. They don't really need to say anything to punish you for going against their worldview, they're the mods, and they have downvote brigades that effectively silence you.

I wouldn't mind a "report racist content" button, tbh.

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Expressing racist ideas is not a crime. I don't advise it. But there are valid perspectives on all sides if you don't close yourself off to it, and whether you agree or not is up to you. If for no other reason that to understand their perspective to better argue against it rather than just repeat the same talking points they've already heard to no effect.

How would you argue against a Hindu family who only wants their child to marry another Hindu?

[–]Dr_Funkenstein 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

"Expressing racist ideas is not a crime." Actually, yes it is in my country (Canada) and I don't want my ip address connected with a site with a reputation for being white supremacist.

Saidit will also be blacklisted by Google and Patreon, etc.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You're jumping to supremacy when a lot of racism is not about supremacy. And often there are very valid reasons for racism, even if I don't agree with them. There's also valid reasons to fight harmful racism - like the prison industrial complex fueled by the racist judicial system in the USA.

I'm Canadian too, now in Windsor. We have a lot of stupid laws.

I used to live in Brampton which has a HUGE Indian population. I liked it a lot for a lot of reasons. I don't care if they want their kids to only marry other Indians or if they express that. But I have a problem with hypocrisy and if white folks who express their wish for a "pure bloodline" whatever that may mean, get demonized then that's bullshit. Power to them and their freedom to have preferences and expressions - even if I think they're retarded.

Google and Patreon are tools of the establishment which is manufacturing half the problems to keep us divided rather than focused on the exploitative elite puppet masters who intentionally create their order out of our chaos.

If "they" stop bombing or exploiting and oppressing those countries then those people will not flee their country as refugees thus creating a lot of turmoil at their destinations. The elites are stirring the pots to intentionally shit disturb so we will demand more authoritarian power be given to them. It's their cycle.

I'm happy to be one of them.

It would be nice to see some sort of global rule prohibiting or discouraging discouraging click-bait links.

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Welcome!

I encourage people not to post links like that, and to put as much content in the title as possible, but in the end it's pretty subjective what constitutes a "click-bait" link and I'm not sure it's worth the time and resources necessary to police that. We mostly let the votes decide, and saidit's community values information over click-bait :)
