I've been thinking for years about a hyper decentralized, panarchist future along the lines of The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson, and influenced by real world historical city states and mercenary/mafia organizations. The theme is generally cyberpunk but not posthuman, in fact I'm very conservative with my science fiction. Lots of plastic diamonds, iridium armor from asteroids, but largely terrestrial and Near Earth Orbit. No super Nanos or psychic computer networks.
I'm very much influenced by Max Stirner, economics and the 19th century in the way I've worked out some of the ideas. I'm influenced by a number of anarchic and other political and religious factions in how I create fictional inhabitants and locations for this near future (~200y) and I actually have written well over a hundred pages of hard sci fi spaceship, armor, politics, etc for GURPS or system neutral.
Its not libertarian in the sense that the NAP is a game mechanic or anything, but it tends to have an Austrian econ/egoist philosophical view (because I do), so that I try to depict these ideas in action, and competition, with verisimilitude.
If anyone else is interested in such a niche RPG (I don't necessarily mean for GURPS), let me know. I'm probably going to want to publish it at some point but I don't FUCKING BELIEVE IN IP and it's something that would actually benefit from the input of people who are interested in technology, economics, and fairly constrained criteria for thought experiments about radical propositions. Not to sound too pretentious, it's basically an excuse to shoot coilguns at South American military juntas in plastic powdered armor.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
