I think they are annoying because they ignore the influence of war in traditional society. In that they appropriate the distorted perspective of history feminism uses to terrify women in order to appeal to lonely men.
Historically, privileges such as priority enrollment in higher education, job eligibility, and voting rights were associated with registration with draft or participating in war. Even today, if a man refuses to register for the draft or "selective service", he is imprisoned, denied higher education, and faces other penalties but no one says a single word against it.
Veterans still receive education/job benefits, and now some military roles are open to women (snipers, pilots).
In nature, it is often the male animal that is beautiful and must impress the female. But it is reversed in the human species because significant populations of men are removed from the civilian population during times of war. Leaving women to flirt with teenage boys like in older animes, partner with significantly older men, or compete for whoever comes back and isn't too mutilated and tramatized. But if war is mutually unfavorable (nuclear weapons), then certainly the traditional association of feminimity and beauty loses purpose.
Anyway, someone explained to me that animators and producers for classic Japanese media were raised during a post-war era. what do you guys think?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
