Prove it. Lots of quote sites have the quote on there, including ones that note a time.

Show he never said it. Google shows all quote sites accept this quote. I also linked a website that attributes it to a specific time.

I linked the quote site that notes a time. Are you blind? Do you need help?

Even when it notes a time, that could be inserted to make it look more legitimate. See this thread for another quote that turned out to be fabricated in spite of the efforts put into making it look convincing.

You have yet to prove it's wrong though. I've checked and I couldn't find much evidence for it either being real or fabricated, except for the fact that all quote websites accept the quote, which provides some evidence that it's real.

I didn't say it's wrong, it was just a note. But a lot of quote websites accepting a quote isn't evidence either. What I initially found about the Bush quote was also that it was "plausible". We can only assess the truthfulness of the attribution if we have the original source.

That's true. I guess I overreacted a little. My point of contention wasn't so much that some quote websites (which aren't necessarily evidence by themselves) posting this quote must mean that it's real, as much as it was with Popper declaring that it must necessarily be fake without any evidence either.
