This is real 'high tech'. Why? It's a technology that can be repaired in any home shop; meaning real progressive ingenuity that all can easily replicate. The new as seen on tv, 'high tech', is really the proverbial canary in the coal mine; so to speak. Think about it, you maybe able to use the 'consumer end' of the tech, but how many can do the bare bones programming, and the actual manufacture of the crappy electronic components?
Make no mistake, I doubt many will get this, but the modern age of electronics, where by the 'high tech' can only be fixed, or made by one of the 'company stores', is an enslaving tech geared at the "consumer's who consume"... Just saying. The 'able to work on', and maintain stuff basically saw it's last days in the 90's.
