Saidit is the only reason I don't feel alone rn

This year has been weird. We expect our social connections and communities to be assets and to some extent, this remained true for me but after this year, the opposite seems true: it feels like every social connection instantly became a liability which either hinders progress or imposes authoritarian groupthink. This year marked the climax of my alienation and isolation from every person in my life and I'm okay with it mostly. However, if it wasn't for the colorful collection of characters on this site, I would truly feel alone. Thank you all for depriving me of loneliness in the most useful time and in the most helpful way... I'm still super skeptical of everything here but I'm never bored! This has got to be the one place in the entire world where I can speak my mind openly!

Neoliberals playing both sides. It's easy to make people shout "transwomen are women" or "all lives matter" and get angry at each other while they rob every penny from the people. ALL politicians are in league with them, since it's much easier than trying to fix a broken system.

I have experienced the same thing this year. Additionally, I decided to stop living in my car since the pandemic made that a million times harder, and the only affordable month-to-month I found is WAY in the middle of nowhere. So I'm very geographically isolated from people as well. It's just as well because my desire to be around most of the people I knew has gone away since they have shown who they truly are during this weird year.

I feel bored and isolated in a painful way, but I think that mostly has to do with job loss.

No thanks, these are the people who are the reason multiple places I used to dwell no longer let ANYBODY use their lots, thanks to them treating it like it was a huge party and leaving trash everywhere, having cookouts, and pissing in the grass. And then also proceeded to treat me like I was gross trash for living in my car instead of having a $50,000 RV/van. Let them get a taste of their own medicine finally when they are forced to actually be "homeless" in those vehicles.

    The only misinformation crisis during the COVID era is from the mainstream media that is causing mass hysteria in the public with their nonsense. You're right though, a lot of people just don't care but what scares me is that most will passively comply even though they don't agree with authoritarian policies dictating every moment of their public lives.

    I only got here a month ago, but I'm liking what this site stands for. Not that I post a lot, but I've decided that if I want to post something to Reddit, I'll be doing it on this site instead. All the better to grow this as a full destination and not just a place to bitch about how much Reddit sucks.
