Hey /u/magnora7 ... really love the visual update!! Great work. Is there any way I can get the update as well on portcity? If not, I completely get it. Just thought I should ask as I love what you've done! Thanks ...

Thanks! Check out our github commits since Nov 21, that's when I started the visual updates: https://github.com/libertysoft3/saidit/commits/master

I've almost only changed the CSS, which is in the .less files. You can copy that CSS over for yourself to portcity (assuming it still has the same old reddit html class tags). Or you can port over each change individually by using your browser's "inspect" tool on our website to see what the CSS design is for the elements you'd like to copy. If you need any help, let me know.

Sometimes I feel like it's still moving, even though it's not. It's like after you've been on a boat for a long time lol. Turning it off was a good idea

Or driving for an hour, then sitting down afterwards just to feel you're still moving forward.

This will help show off the fact our upvotes are two unique upvotes, not an upvote and downvote like on reddit.

Great idea

Nice!

How is this infrastructure wise? Are the costs high? Is there any optimization to be done here? Site always runs smooth, just curious.

Our infrastructure is doing good. We have 3 servers now, the main one is $55/mo, and the other two are just $5/mo, and our domain costs are $1/mo, so our total expenses for everything is $61/mo. It's very very streamlined, we've put a lot of effort in to that.

And thankfully our incoming donations are a steady $45/mo, counting cryptocurrency donations. So we've got it pretty optimized from a hardware and cost point of view. Please consider donating via patreon or cryptocurrency if you really want to help out saidit!
