s/Ice_Poseidon2. It's nice, easy on the eyes.

Interesting.

That sub uses quite a bit of purple; for a white guy... ;-)

Because the community is called "The Purple Army"

Just saying...

https://saidit.net/s/deutsch has always had very nice CSS

/s/deutch is my fave. I told them so ages ago. If I ever did another, having learned the ins and outs, rather than tweaking code bit by bit, I'd start with design and build it to be something akin to theirs. Snow is good too.

I agree. https://saidit.net/s/deutsch looks really nice :D

that green needs to be dialed down just a notch, to make it look like the old dumb terminals of a mainframe

[–]FormosaOolong 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes! That said I also vote for it.

So after some quick image and colo(u)r changes I vote for (⌐■_■) /s/Internet

(⌐■_■) Me too

(⌐■_■) I like mine too

(⌐■_■) We all like mine

(⌐■_■) Just don't mention the daymode, it only has text and image changes

[–]magnora7[S] 5 insightful - 4 fun5 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Sounds like a group consensus to me!

It's certainly improved since last I saw it. Now I can actually read it.

[–]Mnemonic 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

(⌐■_■) Just now it had an upgrade, for your shadeless eyes.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Oh no. It's worse again.

I need shades for my shades.

Beauty and functionality are two very different criteria.

I designed my "Ergonomix" CSS to improve readability and pragmatic use. The aesthetics were always secondary though still important . /s/IdeasForSaidIt features one of my better banners with my CSS that is also applied to most of my subs with one of my banners among a wide variety of topics: https://infogalactic.com/info/SaidIt_banner_gallery I tried to stomp all the CSS errors, but can't fix what I'm not aware of, not to mention the inherent limits of CSS and Reddit-source. I hope to wrap it up sooner than later when I feel inclined, but in a world of unapologetic excessive censorship motivation doesn't come easy.

Day mode and night mode are also very different creatures.

/s/deutch is my fave and I wish I made it.

Edit: Seems all my CSS and banners are broken. :( Not looking forward to fixing them. But at least the overall site finally looks better.

https://saidit.net/s/UserSnow/ I like the tabs at the top of this sub

The Gentleperson’s Guide to Forum Spies, a manual directly from the Edward Snowden leaks: https://cryptome.org/2012/07/gent-forum-spies.htm

[–]Mnemonic 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (19 children)

My sub already has 2!!! voting threads, so my runner up is /s/USAmerica/ (and the same styled subs, but this one had the best banner IIRC).

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (18 children)

Thanks. That was only supposed to be a temporary banner. I have a whole folder of images I was going to try to include - not all negative about Murica - for good/light and bad/dark themes.

And now all my CSS are broken. It's hard to get motivated to fix them or do anything for SaidIt with the unjust threat of banishment looming over your head. Of course no one will know about that as long as /s/HolocaustSkepticism remains censored.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (14 children)

I'll fix that sub. Disabling like that is against our rules now. I'll have to do that t later on a desktop.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (13 children)

That "skeptic" title would have been better than the pejorative /s/Holohoax.

I don't know how to disable/enable subs. I'm guessing that might be something common on Reddit? Was there a discussion and/or abuses of it to force the rule? Link(s)?

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

You can make a sub private and that's about it. I think this rule came about from the drama from last time you were here, it's now part of the mod rules.. which are freaking buried and hard to find. Ugh.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

That's what the FAQin Wiki is for. :)

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

Yes thank you for that. The mod policy is also linked to from terms and content policy, so I've bitched in vain.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

Sorry, I'm confused. Bitched in vain about what?

I just looked at the /s/saidit/wiki history and it showed only a few changes for some reason. I don't know if it's the new CSS, my browser, or what. It's nice to see M7 updated it recently but I can't see much past that. I was going to look back to when I was there last to see what's new.

I love the new animated banner thing but it moves far too fast and is too distracting. Creeping slow would be better.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

Oh, about links to the mod policy.

That overall wiki history only shows the last week or something. If you check an individual page, the full edit history is there.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Oh, yes, mod policy links would be good.

That master-wiki-page is an individual page too. Before you used to be able to see a whole page of edits, perhaps the entire history, not just a week. Where has the full edit history gone?

Same issue:
* /s/SaidIt/wiki/revisions/
* /s/DecentralizeAllThings/wiki/revisions/

The "terms & content policy" doesn't really express terms nor content policy nor inform too much as it's mostly just discussion. It could be folded into the FAQ with links citing to that post. But that's just my opinion.

[–]Mnemonic 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Hmm temporary? Maybe I choose the wrong one then, I meant the super jacked Uncle Sam injecting himself with Oil.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It was supposed to be a temporary banner until I finished the "final" banner(s). I never got around to it and now I don't feel motivated.

And now, shortly after they revised the website with some minor but welcome improvements, some of the old CSS stuff done broke - including oil addicted Uncle Sam banner.

[–]Mnemonic 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I have some Ideas about that, hit you up later when I can make a full and better response, maybe tonight, but I have to walk real miles IRL ATM so I might just say: I'll wait until Sunday or something.
