the comments are (almost) all good too - it seems there are lots of other LGBs who think the way we do, who would have thought it?

It's probably because a lot of LGBs feel like they can't be up front about how they feel about this so when a video like that comes along, they finally feel like they aren't alone in their beliefs.

Thank you for sharing this interview.

There have been multiple "pro-LGB, against the T in some form" type of organizations that have been popping up in the last few years. I think we (LGB people) need to be really careful about the possibility of homophobia in some of these new organizations. TQ+ organizations such as Stonewall claim to be pro-LGB and do nothing but harm LGB; people of other belief systems besides gender identity [edit: wow can't believe I forgot to finish my thought] are also capable of claiming to speak for LGB people while not being LGB.

To that end, I wanted to point out a couple of positive things I saw in the video:

  • Explicitly pro-homosexual - Belissa Cohen and Carrie Hathorn specifically say that they are advocating for homosexual men and women, emphasizing the existence of exclusive same-sex attraction. This is missing from "Lesbian & Gay News" (LGN), an organization that is purportedly "for lesbians and gay men" but that features writers who push homophobic nonsense, like this.

  • Explicitly pro-bisexual - They say they are advocating for homosexual AND bisexual men and women. (Again, looking at you, LGN...)

  • Explicitly describe the targeting of LGB youth - They talk about "trans the gay away," a new twist on the old homophobic belief "pray the gay away," and emphasize how LGB youth are particularly vulnerable to suggestions that they ought to medically transition, e.g.:

"...We think this is a huge, huge medical scandal in the making. And the reality is, LGB people, we don't need medicalization, we don't need medical intervention, we're fine just the way we are! And so, the T movement, you know, we think that they did target our community, for what we would call, medical gay conversion therapy. And the reality is, today, in this time period, they're not only coming for us, but now they're coming for everybody's kids." - Carrie

Will finish watching the interview, but glad to see this already.
