Hi, I am a 13 year Reddit veteran seeking asylum on Saidit

Reddit was amazing. I started seeing the decline about three years ago, but the past year has been the worst as it sells out completely to advertisers and political interest groups. I spent a lot of time in /r/conspiracy and figured I'd get comfortable here before that community gets banned by Reddit admins for something, probably for supporting vaxxine hesitancy.

I'm into crypto, philosophy, liberty, economics, Christianity, conspiracies, programming (computer, not mental), and much more. Nice to meet you!

Welcome, I'm new here too but I've noticed it's more open minded than reddit. I can post what I think and not get down voted by a 1000+ people. Hopefully it stays that way.

I feel the same way too. Even when using an alt I never felt comfortable commenting on Reddit. But here I really feel welcomed. I like y'all :)

I started seeing the decline when those waves of school kids started rolling in a couple years before the Digg implosion. Past 5-8 years, reddit has been an untouchable hellhole of censorship, manipulation, and the thoughts of some of the worst people in the world.

Sitting on 2 yen year accounts. Much like 4chan was circa 2008, reddit held a special place in my heart as being the protectors off all forms of speech. From r/coontown to r/progressive.

Reddit abandoned the free speech platform with Ellen Pao and its only gotten worse. The doomsday prophets were saying it then...but I think it was inevitable.
