Been lurking for a couple days.

I deleted my reddit account a while ago due to it having a negative impact on me. I couldn't take the toxicity over there and I couldn't keep my mouth shut if I saw something I was interested in/thought was wrong so my only choice was to delete my account. I started lurking for a few weeks and then I saw a post in askreddit which mentioned this sub on tuesday or wednesday.

I'm really hoping this can be a decent community... I just want a place to debate and learn. I want to meet cool people and you know.. have all the benefits that reddit brings you without the literal thousands of morons who come in and ruin everything. I don't know if this forum will ever rival reddit, but if it's active enough I'll pop in every now and again.

I hope everyone's been having a good day and it's nice to be in a "secluded" area for once. Everything now has 100k+ active users and zero sense of community.

This is kind of a funny paradox isn't it? It's like living in the city vs living in the country. When people are rare, you value them more. When there's too many people it becomes some sort of cattle situation, lol

Maybe in retrospect, the mods wish they had deleted it. Within the last week, Saidit has well and truly hit the tipping point and there is no going back. But instead of a "cattle situation" I'd rather you said, crowd control situation. Because that's what you've got now, a crowd control situation. :) Congrats.
