Metroid Planets: classic Metroid reimagined

Hello retrogamers,

I came across this well-made fangame based on the original Metroid and figured some of you might enjoy it. Its basically just like the original title, but with a number of improvements: omni-directional scrolling; a map system; stackable and toggleable upgrades; better animations; music from both the first and 3rd titles (but remixed); two versions of each boss; much better level design; tons of secrets, and three game modes + room editor, among other things.

It took me about 6 1/2 hours to beat Planet Novus at 92%, or about three times the length of my average Metroid 1 playthrough (I'm no speed runner).

Anyway, if you're a fan of the original, chances are you'll enjoy this.

Samus Returns is a 2D Metroid game, which means you have to explore each room carefully and carefully avoid enemies. There are no random encounters or random power-ups, so you can't just rush through the game without killing anything. The aim is to find all of the Metroids on each planet and defeat them before they kill you. Hi. I really like retro games, but I stopped playing them a while ago because of my job. I'm from Ireland and I travel frequently. I took the time to look at your link and found the game interface very attractive. But if you want to play it, I advise you not to spend a lot of time on it.
