Playing Ape Escape on my PSVita right now, but it's something that exists in pretty much every Japanese games to this day.
When you save, you need to select a save spot. "Are you sure you want to save to this slot?", "Saving game to slot", "Game has been saved to slot" and then it takes you back to the save slot screen and not back to the game - I guess so you can verify for yourself that the game has in fact been saved there.
Overwriting a slot where a game has already been saved is even more neurotic. "Are you sure you want to save to this slot?", "You'll overwrite your existing save if you do this?", then the PSVita file manager pops up "Are you sure you want to overwrite this save?"... fuck YES PLEASE it takes like 30 seconds to save each time.
I can understand this during the times of limited storage where you only had like 8 slots to save on (PS1 days) but shit guys really?
