I'm not gay or straight, I'm bisexual! Ok ok, I know what you meant by that though. But I'm not sure what the rest of your post is asking. Can you give some examples?

Thought I'd try an icebreaker question to get people talking, a lot of heavy content (which is good!) but small talk has its purpose...

One thing we all have in common is that we deal with a lot of contradictions with our sexuality, other ways that manifests that are more trivial?

I, for instance, love ghosty bullshit but I don't believe in ghosts.

Celebrity Ghost Stories is my favorite trash TV show of all time. Do I believe the stories? No. Do I believe most of those people are celebrities? No. "Celebrities" tell great ghost stories though 😆

I know what you mean! I don't watch paranormal shows, but I do love to read scary stories online from people who wholeheartedly believe they've encountered ghosts, aliens, wendigos, etc. They really freak me out in a delicious way... I am not that superstitious though. When something weird happens, I always assume it's a coincidence or there's a mundane explanation that I haven't figured out yet. But seriously, spooky stuff is so fun. I even encourage superstitious people to tell me about their experience even if I don't believe in what they're saying, because it's still very interesting.

One time I had a coworker who believed in witchcraft and believed that Mercury retrograde (something to do with astrology) was making her cats act crazy. I just played along haha

You get it! I do most of that too!

Sums it up beautifully. I follow the Weekly World News method with people's superstitious stories:

“If someone calls me up and says their toaster is talking to them, I don’t refer them to professional help, I say, ‘Put the toaster on the phone’.”

I have a coworker who thinks his beloved grandma sent him a cat to comfort him the day after she died. He thinks her spirit is in the cat. I love it, though I disagree and he knows that. He always tells me how the cat's doing.

I'm not religious at all(and can even be considered anti-religious) but I like learning about the laws, history, lessons, and mythology that religions have.

I don't like to gamble but I love the Las Vegas Strip vibe with all the gambling.

I'm afraid of heights but like the idea of being impossibly high up and right on the edge of falling.
