If you want further evidence that it is a liar, shill, and problematic disruptive force in our community, I and others can dig all that up for you. I'm asking all of SaidIt to weigh in because I'm curious to see if folks are outliers who feel as I do. I don't care if you're for me or against me, if you keep it short or make it long (with a TLDR), but all I ask is that you be very clear on your stance (even if you can see it from several viewpoints simultaneously) to remove as much ambiguity and confusion as possible.

If you really don't know what all of this fuss is about, consider yourself lucky.

This is the last bit of energy I'm going to ineffectively expend toward dealing with proven liars, shills, and asstrolls on SaidIt. Timesucks are a waste and drain on our resources and I've got solutions to work on to resist global tyranny.

Trans-Van

Today I was checking out a prospective off-grid homesteading prepping location. Much potential, lots of work. On the edge of the field/glade surrounded by forest was a Trans-Van like that, parked nosed into the woods with the back open to the field. At one point I'm sure it would have made a terrific tiny/mobile home. Today I was afraid of getting too close to whatever it might smell like.

He drags down discussion, but generally it's only bad when he encounters you, socks or sometimes Chipit. I've seen him provide helpful links, but I'm not paying attention for the most part unless he's talking to me or says something that piques my interest.

I can't tell if you keep referring to him as an "it" in an attempt to dehumanize and insult him or what. Blocking is definitely the easiest route to save yourself some irritation either way.

Your arguments aren't based in facts, your arguments are based on information that you've read, processed, and regurgitated and framed in an abrasive format-- like the writing equivalent of resting bitchface. The reliability of that information is as questionable as the information that you refute. I disregard most of the videos out, because I don't give a shit what some scientist or medical professional says during a 15 minutes of fame interview, I want to see their studies and hold them up next to previously performed studies about similar diseases/disease responses/etc.. Perusing studies brings up a separate issue in that peer review isn't necessarily reliable anymore either and can easily just be signed off on, which is disheartening but ya know. The only real way to genuinely verify data is to perform experimentation on your own. Cognitive dissonance goes both ways though, and you're clearly not impervious to it so why act self righteous?

If someone constantly breaks the rules, I agree it's important to make a point of it, especially when the rest of us are required to follow the rules (I have 2 "strikes" and will be banned with the 3rd strike, merely for saying twice what Carswell has said 100s of times. Not that we should be shocked that Carswell can continue bullying. But it's worth addressing the bullying on Saidit, for many reasons. Saidit would probably grow if the bullying was checked more often, though those of us who are bullied naturally lose all interest in making a point of this, or bothering to care about Saidit's future. Months ago I defended Carswell, diogenes, Muskrat and others when they were banned, writing quite a bit to the admins and community about them. I wanted to see their approaches on Saidit, even when we didn't agree (especially because we didn't agree). But because I've been rather honest with Carswell about his issues, this is one of the reasons he obviously hates me and is on record trying to get me banned on many occasions. That's of course his problem to worry about. Would I still want him to be banned. I don't know. His bullying keeps Saidit from growing, but he's not the only person bullying. Do I want Saidit to grow? I don't know. If it did grow, would be a leading spreader of right-wing and alt right disinformation propaganda? Seems so. Moreover, is Saidit truly a "free speech" website? Is it truly "non-partisan"? Does it really address corruption, if indeed we see so much propaganda in the posts (paid for by a corrupt influencer racket funded by GOP PACs, donors and corporations). As with any community, there will be odd developments and contradictions, and if Saidit does grow, I think we'll see - by necessity - more interesting approaches to these developments (for better or worse). It can be an interesting place, minus the bullying.

Yes - sadly. If people complain enough about you to mods and admins, you can get a strike for "name-calling". I called someone an asshole (which I can do on Reddit), and 7 days later, after several complaints to an admin, I got a strike. (Edit: and I've been called every name in the book, on a regular basis, thoug recently enjoyed the title of 'malfunctioning meme'.
